Hi there
I am writing this review for those who want to visit Doha City in Quatar.
Quatar as a country is 4 time bigger than Delhi City of India. Local population is around 5 Lakh and migrants are around 20 Lakh, so tatal 25 Lakh population. Where as if you compare with delhi, it has 33,807,000 people in it, means 13 times more than Quatar.
Doha city is very beutiful and the people in Doha are mostly you can see migrants. Local residents usually do not travel by metro.
From Hamad Airport Taxi will charge anywhere between 50 to 100 QAR based on your location. They dont allow Uber to stand at Airport. If you do not have luggage or small laugage then proceed by Metro, its better. Or come out from Airport and from road take a Uber taxi which is around 20 to 30 QAR for nearby 3 to 4 metro stations distance. (Generally for 5 KM Uber charge 12 QAR and Airport taxi charges 25 QAR for first 3 KM which is very costly.
Metro service is very good , on friday metro starts after 2 PM and rest of the days it is 6 AM to 10 PM. You can take Daily pass of 6 QAR or Metro card of 10 QAR , Its better to take Metro card as it can be used for Buses also.
The visiting spot planning could be as follows
check the metro map
If you are staying near Hamad International Airport like Al Wakra , free zone its OK. Else its better to stay near Souq Waquif or Al Bida
If you have 3 to 4 days you can plan visits like this
Day 1: Visit National Museum in afternoon it will take around 2 to 3 Hrs to visit all corners. The fees for visit inside the National Museum is 50 QAR per person. Then you can visit in evening at Souq Waquif market (Its a local market for shopping) You need not to take any can, just near by metro station and walking distance.
Day 2: You can plan to visit
DECC city center mall it will take around 2 Hrs, then head to Lagtifia metro station and then pay 10 QAR to Uber taxi to reach Pearl Quatar. Pearl Quatar is beutiful island. Take a tour in Water Boat , they charge 200 QAR for 10 people, you can arrange it private or just ask families to share the total price
Then head to Katara Towers from pearl quatar by paying 12 QAR and take snap with beautiful buildings , after that just 50 meters away from Katara Towers you can find CORNIS beach, which is very neat and clean
Then you can come to Katara Metro station and visit Katara Cultural Village just 200 meters away from Metro station, No need to take any taxi.
Day3: There are several other places to visit such as Villagio mall at Aziziyah Metro station, just near by. You have to take Golden line. after visiting Villagio mall in afternoon you can come to Al Wakra metro station and take Uber at 12QAR and go to Old Souq wakrah beach…in evening you will enjoy old souq , you need to have sweater if you are travelling from December to February ….explore more if you have time
